LuciCeno 50 (Cenobamate) is an oral antiepileptic medicine containing cenobamate, used to control certain types of seizures in adults with epilepsy.
Indications: Cenobamate is indicated for the treatment of partial-onset (focal-onset) seizures in adults. It may be used alone or as add-on therapy, depending on the prescribed treatment plan.
Mechanism of action: Cenobamate has multiple effects on neuronal excitability, including enhancement of inhibitory GABA-A receptor activity and reduction of persistent sodium currents, helping to decrease abnormal electrical activity in the brain.
Dosage form: Tablets for oral administration.
Administration: Taken by mouth once daily. Treatment is generally started at a low dose and gradually increased according to the physician's instructions.
Possible adverse effects: Common adverse reactions include somnolence, dizziness, fatigue, headache, and balance or coordination problems. Serious risks include drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), QT interval shortening, and hypersensitivity reactions.
