LuciCeno 200 (Cenobamate) is an oral antiepileptic medicine containing cenobamate 200 mg, used to treat certain types of seizures in adults with epilepsy.
Indications: Cenobamate is indicated for the treatment of focal-onset (partial-onset) seizures in adults. It may be used as monotherapy or as adjunctive therapy, depending on the prescribed treatment regimen.
Mechanism of action: Cenobamate reduces abnormal neuronal activity through multiple mechanisms, including enhancement of inhibitory GABA-A receptor activity and inhibition of persistent sodium currents.
Dosage form: Tablets for oral administration.
Administration: Taken orally once daily. Treatment is generally initiated at a lower dose and gradually increased under medical supervision to reach the appropriate maintenance dose.
Possible adverse effects: Common adverse effects include sleepiness, dizziness, fatigue, headache, and coordination or balance problems. Serious risks include DRESS, hypersensitivity reactions, and QT interval shortening.
