Resolax 1 mg contains prucalopride succinate equivalent to prucalopride 1 mg. It is a film-coated tablet manufactured by Everest Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Bangladesh. Everest lists Resolax in 14-tablet and 30-tablet packs.
It is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of chronic constipation in adults when laxatives have not provided adequate relief. Prucalopride works by stimulating propulsive movement of the intestine, helping improve bowel movements.
The usual adult dose stated by Everest is 2 mg once daily, while older patients generally start with 1 mg once daily, which may be increased to 2 mg if needed. A 1 mg daily dose is recommended in severe renal impairment, and the medicine is not intended for children under 18 years.
Common side effects reported by Everest include headache, abdominal pain, nausea and diarrhoea, particularly when treatment is first started.
