Alpesib 150 mg is an oral targeted anticancer medicine manufactured by Everest Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Bangladesh. Each film-coated tablet contains Alpelisib 150 mg, a selective phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K) inhibitor with predominant activity against PI3K-alpha. It is used in combination with fulvestrant for the treatment of postmenopausal women and men with hormone receptor-positive (HR+), HER2-negative, PIK3CA-mutated advanced or metastatic breast cancer following progression on or after endocrine-based therapy. Alpelisib works by inhibiting abnormal PI3K/AKT signaling associated with PIK3CA mutations, helping to slow the growth of cancer cells.
The recommended dose is 300 mg once daily with food, which corresponds to two 150 mg tablets, although dose reductions may be required depending on tolerability and adverse reactions. Important treatment-related risks include hyperglycemia, diarrhea, rash, and pneumonitis, so treatment requires appropriate medical monitoring.
