Avatrombopag (Doptelet) is an oral medication that increases platelet production in the bone marrow. It is used to treat low platelet counts (thrombocytopenia), particularly in adults with chronic liver disease who are undergoing a procedure and in patients with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) who have not responded adequately to previous treatment. It works by stimulating the thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor to promote platelet production.
