Trastuzumab Botidotin is an investigational antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) designed to target HER2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2)-expressing cancer cells.
Mechanism of action: The trastuzumab component binds to HER2 on the surface of cancer cells and facilitates delivery of the attached cytotoxic payload, auristatin-based monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE). This can interfere with microtubule function and inhibit the growth and survival of cancer cells.
Potential use: Trastuzumab botidotin has been investigated in clinical studies for the treatment of certain HER2-expressing solid tumors, including advanced or metastatic cancers.
